Third and final number in the thrilling cascade line-up preceding the drop of Hidden Empire's eagerly-awaited newest long-player, "Momentum", there goes the standalone burner of a tune, "Alright". Encompassing all of the pair's idiosyncratic merger of styles - from pop-laced Italo to spaced-out techno wares, through jagged motorik and heavily mecched-out jacking house, this new single shows off Hidden Empire's wide arsenal of pyrotechnics under the most compelling of lights, equally at ease busting the limits betwixt wave-ready electro material and more DJ-focussed functionalism, either way stacking maximum energy to squeeze dance floors under irresistible levels of funky disruption, sensual vocal drifts and an ever impressive intuition as to what ravers need in the heat of the moment. SVT327Y | Hidden Empire – Last Call
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Second chapter on the way towards the anticipated release of their third studio album on Stil vor Talent, "Momentum", here comes Hidden Empire's second single, "Last Call". Tapping in the duo's trademark seam of EBM-laced techno bound for hi-impact dancefloor hustle and further far-reaching, cross-dimensional escapology, this second instalment delivers a serious amount of craggy electro reliefs to surf and synth-splattered jack to sync your brainwaves to. Whereas the lead number "Last Call" has us journeying to straight out Moroder-esque territories, flush with the aptly configured palette of fuzzy space disco bass, fast-paced Italo churn and vocodized talk for good measure, the second track "Avalanche" opts for a more brooding, deadlier approach. Cutting its path away from prying eyes, this one finds Hidden Empire pulling the stealth weaponry to absolute hypnotic effect - perfect for serious in-between peak time business with its thick, thriller-like tension, mist-shrouded atmosphere and surgical focus. One more to go until "Momentum" blasts its way across your woofers. Buckle your belt and brace for impact. released February 10, 2023 |

![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
A few months on since the release of her long-awaited debut solo release for the label, "Liquid Gold", SKALA returns to SvT with "Beide Alleine" to round off what's been a busy and decisive year in her irresistible rise. Carving out its own singular lane at the confines of stripped-back pop melancholy and more tribal-oriented electro/techno dynamics, SKALA's sound finds its most strikingly vivid and understatedly poignant incarnation on the title-track - here presented in both extended version and radio edit, never quite picking a side between club-readiness and abstract-leaning digressions. A compelling mix of bass-driven forge-ahead girting a heart-wrenching core of strings and acoustic piano felicity, where SKALA's voice blooms to further impressively genuine, emotional fruition. Low-key house number "Tout Le Monde" weaves a distinct kind of headspace for your hazy mind to wander in, just as immersive in essence as its counterpart. Repurposing the piano to sustained use throughout five minutes of loungey escapism and after-flavoured hypnagogia, SKALA beckons us onto a path of meditative serenity via a superbly textured assemblage of dubbed-out chords and crisp, post-indus rattling drums; scraping at that seemingly quiet surface of glossy envelopes to better reveal the troubled waters that flow beneath. released November 4, 2022 |

SVT322 | Moonwalk – DUNE
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Fellow Italian duo and label habitués Moonwalk are back on Stil vor Talent with a two-track revenge of an EP, "Dune", right on cue for late summer festival action. Walking in the footsteps of their latest release on the label, "Different People", Dario Vizioli and Mauro Morabito turn up with a pair of cuts built for a mix of big-room rumble and spaced-out escapism, ready to sweep over the dancefloor with an all-engulfing deluge of cosmic brainwaves and Italo-influenced glissandos that keep on cranking the heat up a notch with every bar. Charging first, the electrifying title-track "Dune" flings us into orbit through a compelling train-like crescendo primed for large arenas and peak-time momentums. Synth-fuelled poetics blazing and entangling along powerhouse bass leads, the track cavalcades straight onto otherworldly horizons, fierce and burning with an untamed fire. The zodiac-inspired "Aries" heads for a different destination with its jacking prog and intricate construction, trading Dune's linear ride for a further jagged, breaks-friendly trip into alien territories. True to their signature hybrid touch, Moonwalk deftly swings the pendulum between no-nonsense banging assets and a certain taste for steering ravers into altered states of consciousness. released September 9, 2022 |

SVT318 | Township Rebellion – Doppler
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
About a year on since their last incursion on the label, acclaimed German duo Township Rebellion resurface on Stil vor Talent with a fresh new three-tracker, right on cue for the busy festival season ahead. Titled "Doppler" after the EP's eponymous lead-track, this new effort also comprises two previously released cuts remastered to further compelling effect, bound to make quite the impact on the dance floor with their all new, fully revitalized sound design. Music to sync your brainwaves and jack your body to, unremittingly. As per each occurrence, Township Rebellion show themselves eager to take over the clubs' sound systems with optimum style and firepower, and "Doppler" sure attests to their inimitably floor-efficient approach. The lead single "Doppler" is no stranger to Arthur Wagner and Marlon Mürle's signature blends, flush with tribal-infused motifs, peak time cliff-hangers and thunderous outbursts all set against a progressive epic of soaring synths and skull-crushing kick drums. Dwelling the interzone between pure big-room banger territories and unpredictable drifts into wider, open-ended electronic realms, their music eschews classification, forever that nomad sound roaming the confines of DJ functionality and frame-breaking otherworldliness. Both presented in sharper-than-ever remastered versions, "Baud" and "About A Tribe" makes for perfect contrapuntal companions to the electrifying, broad scale epic that is "Doppler". An ominous call rallying all souls eager to sail off onto higher raving spheres, "Baud" leaves no stone unturned in its machiavellian plan to merge all dancers in one throbbing mass of energy. Meanwhile, "About A Tribe" showcases the pair's intuitive attraction towards mystique-imbued folk music and polyphonic rhythms, infusing that soulful melodic search into a blazing maelstrom of hi-tech electronic engineering, piano-house addiction and wistful, post-trancey hypnosis that will have you climbing the stairs of euphoria on your hands thru and thru. released May 20, 2022 |

SVT315 | Tim Engelhardt – Firestorm
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Following up to his 2020-released sophomore album "Idiosynkrasia", Tim Engelhardt reemerges on Stil vor Talent with his new single, "Firestorm". Putting forth the widescreen poetic vision that has been flowing across his previous releases with an ever-fresh and adventurous approach, this Janus-faced new iteration from Tim fuses two distinct facets of the producer's output - one darker, more subdued, the other out-there and solar. Rolling hips with unabashed swagger, "Momentary" paves the way with a balanced mix of martial marching rhythms and floating keyboard melody tinged with a touch of Oriental chords. Slowly but surely hatching into a bespoke big-room churner as bars run by, the track offers moments of graceful escapism while steadily fanning the groove's flames so the fire doesn't go out, ever. Subtle yet grandiose, a piece of masterly executed electronics that definitely lacks no emotional power of agility. Draped in opaque shades of neo-classical harmonics, blazing with poignant violins, folk-pop-laced vocals and next-gen synth wizardry, the lead-track "Firestorm" oozes an ambiguous mix of dynamic strength and spiralling melancholy. A suspended moment unmoored by time and space, this is music to shiver and dream your life away to, equipped with the right amount of bass and club-focused assets to have any dance floor zoning out in its own cozy bubble of nostalgia-fuelled resilience. released May 6, 2022 |
SVT314 | Fabian Krooss – Higher State
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Hot on the heels of his recent "Planet D" EP, label stalwart Fabian Krooss returns to Stil vor Talent with his anticipated new release, "Higher State". Featuring all of that elementary Krooss-copyrighted sound palette, this new effort finds the Berlin producer exploring further ahead the concepts of minimal trompe-l'oeil and electro-acoustic roguishness that flowed across his previous iterations, resulting in an ever streamlined, pared-to-the-essential quartet of club-ready cuts. Surgically executed and bound to get all booties shaking in a two-mile radius. Drenched in reverbs and machinic processes, "Unchained" draws first blood with its engineering of bubbling bass onslaughts and steel-clad percussions going hard against nostalgic swashes of brittle chimes and flat chords. One foot in a celestial paradise of sorts, the other wading in a sea of molten metal. A subdued dub affair laced with big-room focused electroid tendencies at first, "Higher State" progressively trades that chaotic opening for a steadier momentum, getting each bar tidy for the accordion-like home run to exhale its flavours with optimal results. Hips wiggling and feet shuffling, the bouncy, tropical-hot "Frechdachs" is no straight walker but rather well a cheerful churner primed for metronome-busting action down the mosh pit. Sway, roll, shake off the dust from your shoes and repeat. Final number "In Between" caps it off in sheer mesmeric Andalusian-style. Serving up an oddball mix of FX-riddled, raucous electronics and refined Spanish guitar riffs, it's a feast for the senses that unfolds, deep and lush as it gets. Fabian Krooss in top shape, as ever. released April 15, 2022 |
SVT313 | Hidden Empire – Signals
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Hot on the heels of their 2021-issued sophomore album, "Lost Spirits", German duo Hidden Empire clock back in on SVT with "Signals", their new triple menace of an EP inbound for extensive action across the dance floors this spring and summer. True to the lush and pulsating, stadium-sized vibes that innervate all of their previous outings, this new delivery puts forth the pair's nonpareil knack for weaving ambitious club narratives both intricately conceived and organically enjoyable right off the bat. A new benchmark release for an outfit that withstands the all too overused coinage of "all killer no filler" with this hard-to-resist triplet of natural belters. Leading the way, the doped-up title-track "Signals" goes straight for the jugular with a raucous, pressurised bass paving the way and steel-clad percussions pulling out bone-obliterating punches from the blue, geared and processed to circuit-blazing efficiency. Subtler in style, "Comoja" trades the all-out nasty robotic swagger of the opener for a more spacious kind of headspace, fusing the syncopated charm of Afro-informed polyrhythmic bursts with streamlined deep house envelopes to elevate each and every molecule of your being into rapturous plenitude. Back to a less ethereal, harder-hitting EBM/Newbeat-ish state of mind, "Alright" wraps up the journey on a hi-NRG, Knight Rider-friendly type of treat, lacing it with soulful vox and church-like choirs that give the track a perfect balance between heavyweight pound and vaporous breaks. released April 1, 2022 |
SVT312 | SKALA – LIQUID GOLD
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Following her maiden contribution to our 300th milestone VA issued a couple of months ago, Berlin-based SKALA clocks in on Stil vor Talent with her debut solo effort, "Liquid Gold". A three-track alchemy of sultry atmospherics, shamanic brainwaves and further spaced-out, big-room-focused momentums, this EP resounds as a statement of style from a burgeoning artist in the process of establishing her non-pareil voice in our scene. Breaking the EP in, the mystique-friendly title-track "Liquid Gold" taps in a seam of slo-burning, folk-informed house and laces it with future-ready engineerings. Imagine stepping in a smoke-shrouded den where your body and soul make one with that of the crowd's, glowing silhouettes stretching their odd contours out convulsive tides of stroboscopic lights and steamy emanations from the jam-packed engine room. The second cut doesn't drift much farther from that sensually dark, night-loving ambience made hers by SKALA. Out of a similar palette of ominous machine spurts and hip-swaying, metronomic swagger, the vibes pour in to incendiary effect. "Ivory" rounds it off on an even wilder, more menacingly ambivalent note, doing the splits between a brittle, melancholy-infused melody and a trampling groove, tailored to march over the club with maximal tonnage. credits released March 4, 2022 |
SVT311 | Sam Shure – Malfunction

SVT308 | Oliver Koletzki – Made Of Wood Remixed
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Published earlier this year, Stil vor Talent main operator Oliver Koletzkis ninth studio full-length Made of Wood" gets the remix treatment courtesy of label staples Super Flu, Fabian Krooss, AFFKT and newcomer Kunterweiß, each of whom add their distinctively vivid and elegant spin to Koletzkis tribal-informed, drum-centric narratives. First in line, high-profile Halle duo Super Flu takes on the desert caravan groove of Copal with a deluge of sub-heavy gunnery, processed oud, darbukas and incantatory whispers weaving a mist-shrouded tableau of hi-tech shamanic ritualism primed for climactic big-room use. SVT alum Fabian Krooss then tweaks the nostalgia-drenched Picture (feat. Judith Ahrends) into an infinitely sleek, smooth-tongued delight of whirling electronics and enticingly hypnotic pop motifs - perfect for either sunrise or sunset limb-shaking with your loved one. Or a good, healthy cry too. Back to a hyper dynamic mindset, AFFKTs hi-octane reshape of Made of Cashmere goes straight for the jugular with its paced-up EBM meets electro-rock momentum. A savage groove paves the way and its a no-nonsense thunder of raucous riffs and cosmic arpeggios that awaits for the dance-floor. But are they ready? Going the more intimate path, Kunterweiß rounds it off with a muted downtempo revisit of La Veleta, meshing the slo-blazing suavity of the slap bass with Andean flutes and an enhanced focus on faux-organic textures and envelopes to lose yourself in. |
SVT307 | Tal Fussman – Underneath The Surface
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Up with his first foray on the label is on-the-rise talent, Tal Fussman. On the cusp of real big things, the Tel-Aviv via Berlin-based producer has already seen his tracks be charted by top-of-the-line jockeys and selectors including Dixon, Âme and Trikk. His debut incursion on Stil vor Talent, Underneath The Surface, puts on offer three versatile cuts, each of which displays a distinct and fascinating facet to Fussmans richly hued musical realm. Breaking the EP in, the title track puts forth a cold and frothing EBM signature. Built around pared-down samba-like syncopations and gridlocked drum architectonics, the track lays maximal emphasis on fluctuating layers of raucous machine spurts and sizzling portamentos geared to set the sound systems circuits ablaze. Protocol then swerves onto further epic Italoid territories with warehouse-sized ambition, arpeggiated synths and piano stabs merging into an iridescent symphony of sorts, before Truth takes an unsuspected U-turn towards breaksy atmospherism and sleek, RnB-laced soulfulness. The perfect departure tune to an EP that finds Fussman showcasing the impressive breadth of his artistic palette. |

SVT303 | Deorbiting – Space House
![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Core elements to the Stil vor Talent catalogue since the landing of their debut LP Paranorama in 2018, Berlin-based outfit Deorbiting, real name Christian Schilgen and Christoph Deckert, make an anticipated comeback with their debut album, Space House. A fourteen-piece Moebius strip of minutely designed textural synthesis, kinetic dazzle and otherworldly evasion. Bound for the greater limits of our world, Space House sounds out the multi-dimensional gaps and crannies between kosmische, deep house, EBM and electronica through an array of cuts operating as so many portals into the duo's trademark widescreen explorations. Setting course on uncharted territories, Deorbiting take us on a slo-blooming interstellar journey, moving from the cottony weightlessness of space operaed ambient of its interludes to smouldering floor weaponry effortlessly, tying functionality with narrative cohesion throughout. Here, pop-informed motifs languidly rub shoulders with a sense of cosmo-symbiotic club euphoria that peeps as much towards the eerie warmth of 80s synthwave as it glances at hypermodern minimalism with an acute ear for what makes clubbers boogie to optimal effect. Suffused with robotic vox a la Space Art and spacious padwork, Das Kosmische Ballett and Spaziergang Im All" are riveting odes to intergalactic escapism, while The Journey and World Apart beam us straight back to the VHS era with their lush Casio synths and catchy riffs pouring mellifluously. Melding the soft, smooth-tongued timbre of vocalist HRRSN with refined electro-acoustic arrangements and a bespoke, floor-friendly rhythmic construction,Serenity eases us in a spacious cocoon of sound, as Radio Radio feat. Ira Atari trades the calmer atmospheric side for soft-spoken yet incendiary club apparatus, i.e. fast-cascading keys, woofer-blasting bass and infectious whispers. All instrumental, bass-loaded combers Total Recall and the even sturdier, utterly no-nonsense Solid State grant maximal impact when they enter the melee, complete with the assets to tie the body and mind in one magic spiral of euphoric plenitude. released March 18, 2022 |

SVT301 | Township Rebellion – 혼돈 과 질서
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
One year on since the release of their latest EP, “Rituals”, German flagship duo Township Rebellion returns to SVT with “혼돈 과 질서” (“Chaos and Order” in Korean). Clad in some kind of sci-fi-indebted dystopian - yet no hopeless - scenario, the twofold EP summons ambiguous visions of a world caught in limbo between technologically advanced societies bound to collapse and ambitions for a brighter future through enhanced levels of empathy and understanding that long to surface. First is “Chaos”, a slo-blooming roller that steadily swells towards proper club epicness as its arpeggios unfold. Tapping into 80s-laced, Moroder-friendly Italo with a train-like electro-swing for the main conductor, the cut reels out like the soundtrack to a bumpy otherworldly dream where shapes, colours and sounds entangle in a cosmogonic ballet of sorts. Flip sides and here is the steely, yoking counterpart to TR’s free-flowing opener, “Order”. Flexing its metal muscles and giving maximum room to martial kicks and AI-implemented programming, the track reels out like a brooding call-to-arms, merging thunderous echoes with a truly enslaving gridlocked groove. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Hot on the heels of his recent full-length “Mindtrip” issued last year on SVT, label stalwart Kellerkind turns in a fresh four-track transmission primed for open-air summer epics and extended sessions of soulful uplift. Named after his father’s band, “The Pictures” rustles across Marco Biagini’s warm sound palette far and wide, from velveteen shades to hair-raising momentums, through entwined polyrhythmic structures and incendiary synth dash. Title-track “The Pictures” engineers a lush melange of left-of-centre guitar riffs, rattling drums and emotional piano, soon making room for jaunty keyboards to bloom with uncluttered amplitude. Second is “Dunun”, a tropical-hot joint brewing fevered batucada drums with a muscular bass, roaring electro swing and eerie demon voices surfacing from deep out a mystic forest. An overwhelmingly emotional house number, “Hope” aims for the stadium with its hectic crescendo guiding us across equally dark and luminous meanders of sound, full with a pulsating flow of piano stabs, oscillating synthlines and haunting coloratura. Scanning the gap betwixt trip-hop, nu-jazz and shuffling house, closing cut “Early Morning” drips with hazed-out suavity and soul, making it the perfect jam to bump out while serenely emerging from an all-too chill, dreamy slumber. SVT296 | Oliver Koletzki – Made of Woods
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
On 'Made of Wood', his ninth full-length album since 2007, Oliver Koletzki embodies the seasoned craftsman, carving out his deeply personal sonic sculptures with a confident, learned hand, while experimenting with a broad range of thrilling ideas and fresh textures. The result is an organically flowing, yet decisively shaped work of art, that naturally concludes a trilogy of albums Koletzki embarked on releasing with 'The Arc of Tension' and followed with 'Fire in the Jungle'. Initially written in Tulum, Mexico, during the pre-pandemic winter of 2019, 'Made of Wood' is physically entwined with the primeval forests that continue to inspire its maker: In the subsequent year it took to complete the album in Berlin, Oliver, aided by numerous live musicians and vocalists, brought his sketches to life with a focus on wooden instruments like djembes, marimbas, santoors or duduks, sculpting a natural sound that's warm in timbre, rich in groove and literally made of wood. Thanks to the imperfection of the human hand, the album sings with a bold vibrance that stretches from the LP's slow carnivalesque opener 'Caravana De Los Elefantitos' to the blue horns and Wennink's lamenting coos on the concluding ballad 'Turn'. Intermediately, Koletzki's rhythmic explorations take the shape of mythic odes ('Dear Mexican Jungle'), boisterous tribal dances ('La Veleta'), floor-focussed shakers ('Copal'), handpan-driven epics ('Cryptozoology' feat. Walter Scalzone) or subdued oriental belters ('Serpiente Del Ritmo' feat. ELIH) – emphasising his control over light and dark tonalities, over organic and synthetic sounds alike. Most strikingly, Oliver slowly breaks away from the album's natural feel in the mid-section, in which the disorienting, abstract stunner 'Picture' (with Niko Schwind & Judith Ahrends) rubs shoulders with the synth-crescendos of the bouncy 'Made of Cashmere', while the 14-minute long meditation 'A Starseed's Journey' makes for a powerful penultimate breather later on. Next to the meticulous attention to instrumentation and his instinctive touch, these twists and turns underline that Koletzki feels entirely at ease on 'Made of Wood' – like the true artisan he is. SVT295 | Moonwalk – Different People
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Following up to last year’s 'Alba' EP, London-based Italian duo and label staples Moonwalk resurface on Stil vor Talent with their new three-tracker, 'Different People'. Tapping into the very vein of melodic techno they’ve become key exponents of over the years, this new EP finds Vizioli and Morabito serving up a trio of rolling club weapons primed for hectic night rides and sweat-inducing sessions both on and off the dancefloor. Featuring da Believer on vocals, the title-cut 'Different People' engineers a clever mix of 80s Casio synths, seesawing bass and cold-wave influence, all woven under the standard of Moonwalk’s trademark minimalistic sound design. Driven by a fevered momentum of EBM-laced arpeggios, the gravity-defying 'Lunar Field' flies us off to an otherworldly sonic journey where lusher-than-lush synth tapestries and melancholy-drenched echoes freely embrace and entangle symbiotically. Peppered with Narya’s sensuously ethereal vocals, 'Beyond The Lines' then subtly veers off into further introspective, trancey pop-informed territories. Easing us in its own bubble of weightless chords and cottony harmonics, the track keeps on swelling and blooming, slowly but surely morphing into a steadfast, open-air fest big-mover. Lovers of streamlined techno-house with a deep melodic twist rejoice, Moonwalk are your hosts for an adventurous jaunt into the wild blue yonder. Artwork by 11v151131_m06 |
SVT294 | Fabian Krooss – Planet D
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
After setting the tone with two originals and one remix with us back in 2020, Berlin-based producer Fabian Krooss returns this year with his debut solo sortie, 'Planet D'. A nod to the ecological nonsense that envisages salute in departing our beloved 'Planet A' for other celestial bodies to tear down - such as a fictional 'Planet D', the EP runs the gamut from minimalistic club grooves to blissed-out tropical chuggers, via further atmospheric excursions. Whilst 'Time To Act' serves up a dynamic symphony of FX-laden elements joining forces to fight off anxiety for our future, Theo Meier’s revamp takes the track into further functional club territory with clinical poise. The even lusher 'Night Owl' reels out as an ode to nature and its healing powers, bringing forth a vibrant mix of bassy power and refined, balearic-informed ambient scapes, whereas Midas 104’s version injects just the right amount of bounce and jazz into its hypnotic folds. 'Watatata', a collaboration with Jacob Stille, smoothly takes you on the other side with an innovative and playful touch and 'Twisted Mind' simply rounds it all up with an intergalactic bang. Channeling earthly energies with a strongly poetic power of evocation, 'Planet D' is an invitation to refocus, carried by the hope of fuelling a new, sustainable vision for tomorrow. |

SVT291 | Tim Engelhardt – Idiosynkrasia Remixed
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Tim Engelhardt's 2020 album 'Idiosynkrasia' felt cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, catalysing deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking by way of its genre-bending narrative. Now, some of the long-players most precious and tender moments get reinterpreted by a stellar cast of artists, no doubt with the intimate physicality of dancing bodies in mind. The result is a killer package of three versatile cuts that, while each setting a contrast to their source material, amplify different sides of a feeling Tim's work naturally encapsulated – the flow-state. Melodic luminary Rodriguez Jr. reimagines the album's introspective opener 'Attached' as a progressive masterclass of deeply engulfing bass, gently cascading synths and hopeful piano variations, showcasing his one-of-a-kind grasp of subtle euphoria. In andhim's hands, the title-track 'Idiosynkrasia' then gets the b-boy treatment as the duo beef-up the original's breakbeat-driven lowend and flip Tim's idiosyncratic melodies on their head by adding a healthy dose of funk. Last but not least, Sam Shure strips 'Touch the Sky' of its organic feel, expertly rethreading Hannah Noelle's stunning vocals into a pressure-cooker of a club track. SVT286 | Hidden Empire – Lost Spirits
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
'Lost Spirits' is an exploration in sounds for dancing. Catalysed by the catastrophe that was 2020, Hidden Empire step off the stage and retreat to the studio on a quest to find out what moves the people. They seem to have found it. One out of the box, this 16 track album is designed for diversity. Hidden Empire oar their creative rudders, lending their hand from techno to deep house with a cheeky reach-around to a more downtempo vibe. The first three tracks send you down the rabbit hole on a toe-tapping, hip-slapping aural escapade to the heavier edge of techno, the sublime vocals of Artche taking you directly back to those dancefloor moments when time stands still. Taking the stairs two at a time in polyamorous heels, you’ll fall in love with the sassy, classy, savage vibes of ‘Resurgence’ and ‘Dark Matter’. Transitioning to a more tribalesque vibe is ‘Organic Train’ a cut which blends the primitive, esoteric influence of the old world with the punchy, industrial sounds of the new world. Continuing on the exploratory sound voyage of downtempo, broken beaten space techno, ‘Mr. P’ stands in the forest listening to the plants talk to the people. Bebetta slips in with her inimitable style in the collectively inspired ‘All of Us’, keeping the Fun Dial turned right up. Delving deep into the tundra, ‘Hectic Dreams’ becomes reality as the album turns towards the chunkier end of the musical spectrum. Punching out the bass-heavy bangers like 'Once Upon' (with a cameo from South African slam poet & spoken word artist The Lazarusman), Hidden Empire roll out with a flurry of cuts that are limitless in the genre and luminous in effect. The ‘Lost Spirits’ album is a nod to the certain kind of limitless magic which happens when people come together, without preconceptions, to get lost in the music together. Packed full of 100% pre-pandemic dance-floor approved cuts, wrap your ears around these tasty morsels, in anticipation of a live show where we can all dance together en masse. Our favorite Swedish duo Elfenberg step out of the strangest summer and into the longer nights with their multifaceted EP 'Continents III'. This four-track offering is the product of selective hearing: a journey which hits you right in the dance chakra. Feel your eyes roll into the back of your head with 'Rebonds'. Steady as she goes, this is a dark and trancey dance floor filler. 'Skitiga Lianer' is unapologetic, edgy and slightly off-kilter, channeling subterranean dark matter with a back to the future Baltic backdrop that slides into an oh-so-subtle breakdown. Put some pep in your step with 'Kahawa Tembo', a wavy ravey Afro-tech gravy laced tune that’s sure to get a wiggle on. 'Mozambique' is heavy on the lush, lounge exotica vibe. It’s a warm, lascivious cut with a generous dose of sexed-up saxophone and uplifting vocal tips. Enjoy this trip into ethno-techno sound sauvage unique to Elfenberg. Artwork by Vinzent Britz |
SVT283 | Oliver Koletzki – Oliver's Hands On EP
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
It's well-known that Oliver Koletzki isn't afraid to get his hands dirty when it comes to remixes. One need to look no further than his 2019 anthology 'Remix Tales' as a testament to the fact that the Berlin-based legend can put a very personal spin on just about any track. His new 'Hands On...' EP is another shining case in point. Here, we're treated to reworks of two recent staples of his DJ-sets: Mike Tohr & Amari's progressive-trance hymn 'Borax' and Niko Schwind & Felix Raphael's emotional masterpiece 'Circles'. While Oliver delivers a deeper, more immersive perspective in his drumming and atmospherics on 'Borax', the original synth lead shines as bright as ever. 'Circles', meanwhile, turns into a fruity groover in Koletzki's hands, without losing its emotional edge thanks to the clarity of Felix Raphael's resounding vocals and an epic crescendo. Surely made with distant dance-floors in mind, both remixes are crafted to also get lost in – whether that may be at home, dancing by yourself or during sunrise at a rave deep in the woods, you decide. SVT281 | Tim Engelhardt – Idiosynkrasia
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
German techno and house composer Tim Engelhardt takes you on a deep dive into his peculiar-yet-relatable world of musical meanderings with Idiosynkrasia. True to the nature of idiosyncrasy, the album is more than the sum of its parts. Idiosynkrasia is an ode to the inspiration Tim finds in all kinds of spaces and places: each cut woven from the same cloth of meticulously formed melodic structures and expertly crafted harmonies, gently amplified and unfettered by genre. From the opening track, its clear that Tim has a profound awareness of rhythm and sound, his background as a pianist lending an easy fluidity to the album as it expands and contracts to tell a story which is gentle, humble and reflective. Using granular processed recordings of piano, floating strings and other instruments to transmute emotions like love, nostalgia, vulnerability and longing, the album shifts through meditative, flow-state inducing tracks, morphing into cuts designed for dancing it all out. Take it straight, mix it up or down: Idiosynkrasia is cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, each track is marked with Tims unique sonic signature and careful attention to instrumentation. Inhale the spirited and lively flow; exhale and surrender into epiphanic moments: this is an album that will catalyse deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking. SVT280 | Sam Shure – 333
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Sam Shure needs no introduction. Emerging from a strange summer, '333' sees the German-born, Berlin-based musician step out from hibernation of sorts, to offer three fresh tracks and two remixes by Alex Medina as well as Murat Uncuoglu & Alican. Just as the number 3 represents confidence, creativity and inspiration, Sam Shure steps it up and takes it to the power of '333' with another all killer, no filler EP. We can’t wait to hear it, loud, on the dance floor. Taking minimal techno to the maximum, this album of moody, melodic tech-house has the signature depth and breadth of Sam’s soundscapes: turn this one all the way up. Taking it dark and deep, 'Fae' bounces off the walls with its abrasive synths and chuggy basslines. 'Zion' is high energy, with a heavy metallic complexity and hallucinogenic ethnic-techno layers. All good things are three: '333' brings sexy back triple-time in this spacey, synth-laden track which captures the light divine. With a touch of far-flung exotica from his native Canary Islands, Alex Medina, who previously released on Innervisions and Transmoderna, adds a more upbeat tone to '333'. Taking the original track for a hot date on the dancefloor, expect heavy kicks and deep reverbs. Remixed by the Turkish techno heavyweight duo Murat Uncuoglu and Alican Yuksel, as heard on Innervisions, Afterlife and Exit Strategy, 'Fae' thrashes like a slippery eel into an explosive breakdown while retaining the same full power, basement ready vibe as the original cut. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
If music was a meditation, Mindtrip sits in the realm of the liminal: traversing boundaries, borders and polarities. An invitation to delve into the (master)mind of Marco Biagini a.k.a Kellerkind, his third studio album is a therapeutic peregrination of sorts, as the Swiss producer channels the ups and downs on the roller coaster of human experience. And what a time to be released: as the world turns inwards for a time of solitude, reset and reflection, this must be the soundtrack. Drawing inspiration from the radio, to days-gone-by in the club, to his much favoured hang or hand pan, Kellerkind weaves these influences into this twelve track album, displaying the full spectrum of his musical wizardry. This is where we see Kellerkind come into his own. The album develops organically. Anthemic turbulence builds dramaturgy, releasing into gentle flow which offers a subtle sense of solace. Multifaceted high notes ring out in spacious, almost reverent tones, with slick synths traversing soaring, monastic soundscapes. Like life itself, these highs are contrasted with the lowest of bass-heavy reverbs: grimy, resonant, deep. Collaborations include The Mesmerising Circle, the fruit of a dalliance with maestro Oliver Koletzki - in synchronistic alignment the original melody composed by Koletzki includes the handpan, which features heavily throughout the album. Uyezwa features the divine vocals of Zimbabwean singer Oluhle. Meditative, introspective, emotive: Mindtrip takes Kellerkind out of the club to deliver a dose of sonic space-holding. The message? Take a trip into your own mind: let music be thy medicine, and medicine be thy music. Artwork by Peter Feiler: https://peterfeiler.com/ |

Part homage, part prophecy: Fire in the Jungle is the 8th studio album from Berlin-based DJ, producer and label owner Oliver Koletzki, released on 15 November 2019 by Stil vor Talent. With sounds as diverse as the stamps collected in Koletzkis passport over the past 18 months, Fire in the Jungle is a statement in itself: complex, verdant, the product of years of growth. From the arid desert tundra of Australia, to the lush turquoise beaches and sacred sites of Mexico, to the dusty Playa of Burning Man: these rich and varied landscapes, people, experiences have strongly influenced Koletzki in the production of this multifaceted masterpiece. Musical maestro and storyteller Koletzki expertly weaves live instruments with a range of electronic music production techniques, with producers Sam Shure, Township Rebellion, Hidden Empire, Niko Schwind and Cioz taking listeners on an extraordinary aural peregrination of genres and styles. Lyrical and vocal collaborations with Monolink, Aparde, Temple Haze and Lisa Who are layered with Koletzkis signature sound, adding their unique influence to this distinctive 16-track album. Running the gamut from full-power, bass-heavy dance floor anthems to slower, more sultry tracks, the dramaturgy of this album is matched only by the eclectic exotica and psychedelia of the jungle. As the Amazonian jungle burns, this versatile and thought-provoking album raises important questions about what sustains us and asks us to reconsider the egoism and laziness of the human species. One thing is certain: Fire in the Jungle will set your feet, heart and mind ablaze. Artwork by Peter Feiler

A natural for stirring melodies, Amsterdam-based Sam Shure channels his all-around manifold array of talents into his debut album. With its versatile moods yet compact constructions, Laconia is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The album features ten tracks that draw on Sams jazzy Egyptian roots while staying grounded in his usual melodic, mood-heavy aesthetic. With its warm tones, hazy pads and smart basslines, it creates a perfect ambiance for deep set dancefloors. Laconia features collaborations with fellow producers Cioz and Cook Strummer, as well as a special apparition by Sams paternal figure playing the Oud on Mirage. The tracks explore a diverse array of dispositions, from groovy up-warmers such as Mangata or Louna to more lively dancefloor aggregators such as Kamala Bani, on to the deeply polarizing, whirlwind synth dinger Guz or the more experimental self-evident Not Much To Say. A novel detail makes an appearance on Je te vois, an acoustic electronic dance number with poetic lyrics tenderly sung in French for the first time. The artists romantic side also shows through the mystical elements interspersed throughout, from the spellbinding Encanto to the dreamy soundscapes of Atreyu, named after the famous German fantasy book character. Thanks to a modest key riff and more cosmic effects, Aubade lends its meaning of greeting in the sun to the atmosphere, rounding off the release on an incandescent note. Artwork by Dexter Maurer |

Deorbiting explore sonic themes around impact, causality and uncertainty in their Sic Transit Gloria Mundi EP, comprising of three introspective original tracks, with remixes by fellow label mates Boy Next Door and Krink, alongside UK electronic producer duo Stereo MCs. Opener Tunguska, named after the meteoric burst event in the eponymous region centres around quivering strings and piano pads, creating the perfect backdrop for mind-bending vocals and a playful melody that builds up to a light-hearted crescendo. Stereo MCs turn the track into a less introspective, stripped down version with memorable drums and an overall minimalistic tribal flavour. On the flip side, Boy Next Door emphasises the dark wedges of the original, adding a raw bassline and metallic synths, amping up the tension into a determined, relentless slice. Sic Transit dives even deeper into the introspective waters of mystery and ambivalence. With a slow-paced escalating melody, arched with huge, glorious pads, it gives a hint of the piety associated with the Latin saying. Krink adds a layer of contemplation with brooding atmospheres and smokey elements that showcase the producers attention to detail. Gloria Mundi comes off as a resolute dispersion of the tension built up in the previous two tracks. Serene and intrepid, it rounds off the release on an understated yet heightened atmosphere. While working on his next full-length album, the Berlin-based artist, DJ and label-owner Oliver Koletzki looks back onto an impressive career and a plethora of styles and moods, best exemplified by the diverse set of remixes he's been crafting for prolific friends and outstanding musicians for close to a decade. For 'Remix Tales', Oliver has now compiled his personal favourites, with some previously unreleased, high-impact material forming the icing on the cake. Stylistically, 'Remix Tales' exemplifies Oliver's chameleon-like approach in the studio, as dynamics shift from organic dreaminess to high-octane club-fare, all held together by the trademark musicality that shines through every single Koletzki production. While recent remix highlights such as Monolink's 'Swallow' or Giorgia Angiuli's 'Nothing to Lose' rub shoulders with classics like HVOB's 'Dogs' and Cassius' 'Toop Toop', it's the inclusion of Oliver's previously unreleased 2017 rework of Howling's 'We Stole The Night', as well as the freshly remixed Koletzki & Schwind track 'Camps Bay', that add unexpected and particularly precious twists and turns to this rollercoaster of an anthology. What makes it so captivating is the subtle sense of dynamics and keen manipulation of energy, a common trait encountered on all the tracks in this release. Hazy groover 'Sierra' follows in the same vein, shifting energy through assorted sequences varying in dynamics and layers. Meanwhile, 'Odessa' is a straightforward, unapologetically monumental slice with big breakdowns centring on triumphant synths, closing out the soundscape in a grandiose fashion. Splatters of percussion and haphazard chords are key on Compass North, rounding up the release in a similarly lofty yet dance-provoking manner. |

Kellerkind unleashes sprightly melodies that liven up the floor in his Playground EP, consisting of an assortment of filler-free grooves. Those Nights is outlined in bold sound strokes - radiating synths and catchy, twilight-drenched vocals lead to a near-apocalyptic breakdown. A straightforward, punchy slice, its arguably the danciest cut on the release, with the other three following closely. Meanwhile, Playground is centred around a tribal-infused melody accented by wind instrument loops with a predominantly eerie aesthetic. A stripped-back cut with playful ethnic vocals, Lelelales charm lies in its minimalist backdrop that puts the emphasis on the vocals and exotic instrumental bits. The Smooth Operator exhibits a subtler atmosphere, melding equal parts groove and feeling into a heady sound while remaining in the same auditory realm as the rest of the EP. |

Fresh faces Christoph Deckert and Christian Schilgen aka Deorbiting concoct delightfully level-headed string-based music in the Paranorama EP which includes two originals, one collaboration and three remixes. Paranorama is a lofty, majestic string-ridden composition, where sounds bounce like clouds off the fluid production. Synths adorn expansive pads in an overall immersive ambience that enchants and animates. Niko Schwinds remix takes a more dubby approach, while subtly maintaining the initial unrepressed atmosphere. Next up, Kalipo manages to reimagine the track into a riff-heavy, synth-indulging experience. Cara No, a joint effort with Aaaron, unveils a more moody setting, following in the same pensive yet stimulating resonance. On the flipside, Zero Wing showcases a gloomy soundscape with glitched out pads and eerie details. Sunken piano keys add to the melancholy, elevating the multi-layered construction. Kuriose Naturale adds shrilling bits and spiralling loops of impending doom, offering a more dramatic and acid-tinged version of the original. Artwork by Peter Feiler: https://peterfeiler.com/ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Bridging instrumental tact with melodic mysticism, live act and DJ duo Hidden Empire present their debut album Mind Palace, the fruit of their labour of one whirlwind year. On Stil Vor Talent they find a welcome home, having already gained traction with several releases on the label as well as other renowned imprints such as Suara and Filth On Acid. Ranging from downtempo electronica to iterative techno with groovy house incursions, the diversity of the genres explored across the 16 tracks mirror the Cologne-based artists own sonorous influences as well as their diverse musical sympathies. Fluid, atmospheric tracks set a consistently lush vibe overall, from the esoteric kickoff track Journey Into the Self to subtle warm-up tools like the oriental-instilled Hummus and Fafnir, or the couples first vocal collaboration Pure. Fellow Cologne singer Inga Nelke brings a touch of sensuality with her soft vocal chops atop a broken beat-infused melody accented with gripping piano chords. But its in club tracks that the album abounds, found often in antithetical pairings, whether its the marriage of a Moog bassline and warm Caribbean rhythms in Detroit in Limbo or the juxtaposition of analogue and digital rhythms on In The Woods, created using sylvan recordings as percussion. Its the title track Mind Palace, however, that reaches the apex of antipolar combinations, displaying a breakbeat-heavy lead doused in exotic vocals perched onto a steady bassline, underlining the artists knack for innovative rhythms. A nod to the classic heydays of acid comes in the shape of Acid Flashback, centred around a massive synth hook courtesy of the iconic Roland 303, a tinge slightly present on the spiralling fierce cut Asmoday, albeit a fraction more subtle. Energy is one of the key traits of the album, as Branko and Niklas conceive a copious amount of hard-hitting tracks that amplify and engage towards the second half of the record. Black Beauty oozes stamina from the get-go, its relentless groove guiding a subdued bassline and minimal elements towards the peak point. With Natural Takeover, a tech powerhouse with a tenacious lead and ominous vocals, the album reaches its darkest corner of the Mind Palace universe. All in all, the artists showcase a plethora of straightforward tracks with heterogeneous sound aesthetics, where a closer listen can only reveal further and more elaborate depths. |

Moonwalk put the spotlight on exotic soundscapes in Fatima, a cinematic release with three original pieces, blending their usual lively electronic explorations with an oriental flair. The title track commences with subtly rousing drums, gradually building up a melancholic groove, perched on a backdrop of warm pads and spiralling synths. Another set of oriental-inspired percussion comes to life in Zed, a lengthy journey of winding pads and shimmery riffs. The wailing vocal makes for a distinctive sound bite, while blending in deftly with the aid of a dramatic lead merged in ethereal throbs. Mosaic brings forth another apt fusion of electronic and otherworldly elements. The symbiosis between the two remains linear, with incidental swings to each side of the realm, proving the artists ability to steer through divergent moods and combine them into a unitary, curious composition. |

The first of the two sees the label head's 'A Tribe Called Kotori' and 'Tankwa Town' rearranged, totaling four brand new mainstage-ready reinterpretations. The main artist himself contributes an alternate version of the melodic electronica ballad 'A Tribe Called Kotori', the forerunner of the album. Dubbed 'Woodfloor', this variant boasts affluent rhythmical percussions, that swiftly and righteously amp up its dance-floor appeal. Chris Schwarzwälder steps up with another reinterpretation of 'A Tribe Called Kotori', channeling on its dubby layer and injecting more zest through playful drums and a subtle slice of buzzy synths. Usually known for his vibrant productions, Niko Schwind offers up a surprisingly laid-back yet highly captivating rework of the oriental folk-tinged Tankwa Town. The tracks initial Bengali instrumentation transfigures into its less acoustic, more glitchy and electronic sounding rendition. Meanwhile, on the flipside, we find Berliner Kleintierschaukel conveying the prime arrangement into a harmony-heavy exploration. On his sixth album "The Arc of Tension" the Berlin based DJ, label owner and producer OLIVER KOLETZKI yet again presents his remarkable vision of contemporary electronic music, while he assumes the role of a storyteller. The Arc of Tension speaks to its listener as a singular, self contained work, which communicates by way of its natural flow and arc of suspense. The latter is mirrored not only in the multifarious narrative of the actual album, but can also be understood as evidence for its creator's long musical history. While Koletzki focussed on a diverse range of vocal collaborations on his previous long players, he now moves on to a different form of storytelling, rooted in the quiet confidence of a veteran musician, as well as the hectic lifestyle of a globally in demand DJ. The Arc of Tension is the psychonautic journey through the various continents of Oliver's consciousness. The quiet chirps and warbles, which initially unfold on the opener 'A Tribe Called Kotori', thus act as a loose associative bridge to 'Der Muckenschwarm', Oliver's big breakthrough hit of 2005. The first minutes of the album leave no room for doubt we are immediately locked into an autobiographical world of sound that knows how to captivate from the get go. The dreamy, exotic timbres of the downbeat tracks 'By My Side', Tankwa Town' and 'Byron Bay' penetrate our minds in a subtle yet purposeful manner. But soon the tension tightens and organic sounds one by one evolve towards a sterner, electronic cadence. The bittersweet neon synths of 'Spiritual Not Religious' pave the way for the complex rhythm of 'A Star Called Akasha', an early highlight carried by melancholic cellos and contemplative piano chords. The ultimate turning point follows with 'Through the Darkness'. Here, at the album's centre, Koletzki starts continuously upping the tempo and leads the way with his very own, melodic interpretation of today's techno Zeitgeist, which he has been shaping since 2015's 'Iyéwaye'. 'Planetarium', 'They Can't Hold Me Back' and 'Chaturanga' exemplify, moreover, that a fusion of delicate musicality and sheer force leads to impressively ecstatic results. With its rough guitar chords and the acidic chitter of the TD303, 'Power to the People' rings in The Arc of Tension's ending, until we fully take off into space, weightlessly propelled by the ambient drones of 'The Day We Leave Earth'. Ultimately, what lingers is the feeling that we are being granted a deep glance into the innermost being of an outstanding artist. |

Moonwalk kick off 2017 in their usual style, unrolling the first production effort of the year in the form of three original tracks and a collab with label mate Teenage Mutants. Komet comes in swiftly with a low end throbbing bass, setting a murky mood. The duo apply one of their hallmarks, developing an uplifting winding groove that is equally enveloping as it is relentless, making for a great build-up track. Recalling a celestial atmosphere, Abstract offers an upbeat tech house exploration featuring alert arpeggiators and an optimistic melody. Odensa, a coop with Teenage Mutants emerges from the same dark standpoint, laden with earworm synth loops and a sunken bassline. While the combination provides a steady backbone, the groove is leavened by a chordal countermelody that seizes the main focus. By far the gloomiest track of the bunch, Vite sees Moonwalk and Teenage Mutants join forces and intersect styles in a buzzing banger full of familiar elements. A paced rhythm, rave pads, dubby stabs and subtle kicks craft a relaxed, yet effective build-up. Moonwalk and Teenage Mutants’ knack for deep tech flourishes and synthetic tones finds perfect expressions in this EP, ranging from low to high energy heaters fit for any set time. |

SVT183 | Kellerkind – Fideles
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Fideles and Kellerkind cross paths into a split EP consisting of six original tracks showcasing their individual yet complemental production styles. Haptic’s murmuring vocals are at the center of Vitamins, a playful exploration of fluid atmospherics. A clanging bassline provides the backdrop for whirlwinding synths, as the vocals build up an enveloping, dance-inducing tension. Wave Echoes kicks in lively from the get go: a relentless, steady percussion tied into a wandering baseline are the constant mainstays. The melody slowly develops as a fuzzy wandering pad adds another dimension, equally spacious as it is heavy. Carving light with synth sweeps and spacious reverb, Illumino takes shape as a deep tech introspection. Accented with whirring bits and maintaining an elated undertone, it effectively embodies the ever-ascending, never-releasing groove that’s perfect for peak time hours. Kellerkind steps up to the plate with Subzero, a slice of cavernous dub tech. Breathy vocals and sparse ethereal elements set a dreamy mood. Underlined by smooth piano chords, the vocal develops into a full fledged hymn that is both emotive and mesmerising. For his second take, the Swiss producer embarks on a techno tinged journey. Opting for distorted synths and a stomping bassline, he aptly crafts a near dungeon-like atmosphere only sweetened by a lush female vocal. Teaming up with Sven, they offer up Shakti Pan, a meeting point between tribal infused percussion and deep-set riffs. Hollowed out drums and bells chimes touch on chorus vocals and manage to create a highly immersive experience, rounding off the release on an uplifting note. |

Melodicity and punch are the two main accents of Niko Schwind’s \'Mr. Plastik\' EP. \'Over the Trees\' unfolds with a floating groove, based around a thumping bassline with powerful percussion. Ultimately, Lil Magdalene’s delicate and ear-catching vocals make an appearance, balancing the grit of the instrumental with lush lyrics and building an entirely new dimension. Co-opted for the remix is label head Oliver Koletzki, who engages in a complete rework of the melody. Equally playful, but in turn minimalist and dramatic, a relentless synth groove directs the focus to the danceable elements. Uone joins Schwind on production duties for \'Mr. Plastik\', a minimalist tribal groove with heavily processed vocals and distorted synths. One for the body, not the mind, which also comes in the form of German Brigante’s Sunday Morning remix. The vocal hook stays centered with added winding synths and eerie sound bites , making for a perfectly spacious Sunday Morning groove. |

Niko Schwind’s latest output is a spellbinding five piece EP, with three original tracks and two remixes taking us down the rabbit hole. ‘Lost your Mind’ opens proceedings, building up on emerging synths that break down in a subversive atmosphere. Next up is ‘Existence’, a sinuous techy melody dotted by distorted cowbells intertwined with trippy vocals. Boy Next Door reworks the track, twisting it into its even more hypnotizing and entangling twin. Finally,‘Circles of Confusion’ seems to be composed of just that - circular cuts sprinkled with synths that round up the whole experience. Several Definitions gives the track a deep and dark reshape, using jarring synths and shuffling hi-hats that amp up the late night feel. Artwork by Peter Feiler: https://peterfeiler.com/ |

\'Iyewaye\', Oliver Koletzki’s first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist’s sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. First up is the title track \'Iyewaye\', turned into a lengthy tech infused introspection by Hatzler. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam’s makeover explores the track’s captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused \'Ipuza\' gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the track’s initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework. Artwork by Peter Feiler: https://peterfeiler.com/ |

Just over a year has passed since the release of Kellerkind’s ‘Music is a Miracle’ album: now the Swiss talent finally delivers a new EP in the form of ‘Move Me’, which showcases how his sound has evolved. The title track is an atmospheric affair drawing you in with garage percussion, deep horns and icy synths, while the vocals add a layer of detachment. ‘Believe in You’ nods to classic Kellerkind by way of a disco groove – a neo-trance lead adds an extra twist however. Next up, Joachim Pastor turns ‘Move Me’ into a tour de force of musical wizardry, while Jiggler gets locked deep in the groove. Artwork by Peter Feiler: https://peterfeiler.com/ |

‘I am O.K.’, reads the name of the new album by the Berlin-based producer, DJ and label-owner Oliver Koletzki. The title’s ambiguity is, of course, deliberate: there’s a deeper meaning hidden behind the humorous facade that is Chrisse Kunst’s hand-drawn cover, which depicts an unadorned thirteen-year-old Oliver sporting nerd glasses and a striped jumper: I am Oliver Koletzki, raw and authentic. Because musically, on his fifth studio album, Oliver Koletzki looks towards the unaffected freshness of back in the day, and thus, consciously returns to his roots. On 'I am OK Remixed' we now present a string of high-calibre dance floor remixes to complete the package. |

While 'Perfect Fit feat. Heartbeat' represented the softer, more organic moments of Niko Schwind's recent 'Grippin' World' LP, the second album single 'My Heart Is On Fire' showcases a tougher, more club-focused sound, that's complimented well by Niko's choice of remixers. On the original of ‘Grippin’ World’, a monstrous bass-line wraps itself around Lil’ Magdalene’s beguiling voice. Bristol's rising stars Waifs & Strays pitch down the original's vocals and lay them over a grooving house framework accentuated by machine gun claps and stuttering vocal loops. We are then treated to classical pumping piano house in the form of 'My Heart is on Fire', which wouldn’t have been out of place in early 90s Manchester. Lastly, Dale Howard turns in a muscular warehouse dub that perfectly round off a very solid DJ package. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
‘I am OK’, reads the title of the new album by the Berlin-based producer, DJ and label-owner Oliver Koletzki. The heading0’s ambiguity is, of course, deliberate: there’s a deeper meaning hidden behind the humorous facade that is Chrisse Kunst’s hand-drawn cover, which depicts an unadorned thirteen-year-old Oliver sporting nerd glasses and a striped jumper: I am Oliver Koletzki, raw and authentic. Because musically, on his fifth studio album, Oliver Koletzki looks towards the unaffected freshness of back in the day, and thus, consciously returns to his roots. The nine years that follow his breakthrough with ‘Der Mückenschwarm’, which was released in 2005 on Sven Väth’s legendary Cocoon imprint, see Oliver travel to 211 cities in 39 countries. Next to the world’s most renowned clubs, he plays the large festival stages at Timewarp, Rock am Ring, Rainbow Serpent or MELT!. During the week, however, he’s locked in his studio. Thus, the successful long-players ‘Großstadtmärchen’ (2009) and ‘Großstadtmärchen 2’ (2012), as well as his debut ‘Get Wasted’ (2007), and ‘Lovestoned’ (2010), a collaborative effort with the singer Fran, are born. Simultaneously, Oliver Koletzki’s label Stil vor Talent has been setting new trends in electronic music since 2006 as it has evolved into a stepping-stone for hot newcomer talents. Whether it’s the discovery of David August, Sascha Braemer or HVOB: Oliver’s knack as an A&R is almost uncanny. He does, however, always remain faithful to his penchant for melodic and emotional house music. Over the course of eight years, Stil vor Talent thus grew from a small DIY-operation into a large independent label with an attached booking agency and fashion branch. In 2012, Oliver Koletzki founds a second label, Light my Fire, which is focused solely on the dance-floor. Similar to his philosophy as the head of two labels, the songs on ‘I am OK’ exemplify the effortless balancing act that has become a Koletzki-trademark: a breath-taking symbiosis of groove and melody. After the more pop-oriented long-players of recent years, Oliver returns to the club, without every losing sight of his unique musicality, of course. Throughout its 13 tracks and eight collaborations, we encounter music for festival stages, basement venues, and radio stations alike. Nods to elevating disco, old-school hip-hop, electronic broken-beat, smooth soul, UK garage, dub techno, mellow deep house, and clever electro-pop merge within a beautifully produced house music framework. Things kick off with a bang – ‘Gravity’. Best known for the chart-topping Materia / Miss Platnum collaboration ‘Lila Wolken’, the Berliner Yasha lends his inviting voice to an electrifying explosion of torrential rolling bleeps, fat bass-lines and subtle guitar licks, weaved into an instantly addictive result by Oliver. Next up, NÖRD’s Leo Eisenach delivers emotional vocals on ‘After All’, which float through Oliver Koletzki’s tight arrangement of heavy electronica beats, areal synths, creaking bass and nostalgic piano keys. ‘Up in the Air’ featuring Fran takes a more organic approach, as it picks up where everyone’s favourite ‘Hypnotized’ left off: feel-good sunshine boogie led by Fran’s extraordinarily iconic voice. Summer is on its way! A fact that is further emphasised by the following track, ‘Bring Me Home’. Helped along by a swaying groove, melancholic pads and soft piano melodies, this is an ode to the open-air season and all of its tender promises. Aided by German starlet Leslie Clio, Oliver Koletzki combines his love for 80s synthesizers with a satisfying bounce and the slightest hint of an Italo-bass-line on the stunning ‘No Man No Cry’. Oliver and HRRSN then impress on ‘So Wrong’, as the latter’s warm vocal chords and falsetto peaks compliment the former’s piano- and guitar-driven funk instrumental, turning the album’s sixth tracks into another stand-out. After a hip-hop breather, which offers itself in the form of the deliciously old-school ‘Hommage’ to Oliver’s hometown of Brunswick together with local rap-legend MC Rene, ‘I am OK’ takes another turn towards the floor. On ‘Parachute’, Oliver teams-up with SUOL darling Meggy, whose recognizable vox is backed by a stepping garage groove, accentuated by bright chords and enveloping bass drops. The following track, ‘This Love’, offers similar UK-vibes, yet swaps the full vocal against chopped-up samples: an energetic peak-time tool for the up-to-date DJ. With ‘Streetknowledge’, the album’s most club-ready segment climaxes, as Oliver surprises with Basic Channel-esque dub techno chords that glide through a maze of tough bass-lines and razor-sharp percussion. Many a Stil vor Talent fan’s heart will no doubt skip a beat in anticipation of the collaboration between HVOB and Oliver Koletzki. On ‘Bones’, the pairing proofs to be a match made in heaven as Anna Müller’s inimitable voice gets it’s most energetic outing to-date due to a trance-inducing progressive house foundation courtesy of Oliver. Thunder then introduces the penultimate track, ‘Too Soon’ featuring NÖRD, which bedazzles with its cinematic scope, epic synth melodies and heartache lyrics. Lastly, the echoing piano rolls and spoken-word of ‘Reality’ bid a gentle farewell, as Oliver quite literally walks us out of his unique musical world. ‘I am OK’ – Oliver Koletzki says modestly. In 2014, after 26 years as a musician, he clearly achieved what he set out to do. And his fifth album serves as testimony. Hypothetically he could have a bit of a rest. The energy of each new track here does emphasise, however, that he won’t retire any time soon: Oliver Koletzki is just getting started. |
SVT129 | Niko Schwind – Grippin' World
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
“You become responsible, forever, for what you’ve tamed”, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry writes in his modern fairy tale ‘The Little Prince’, in which his protagonist travels through various worlds in search of friendship and benevolence. The quote is, no doubt, fitting for Niko Schwind, since the Berlin-based DJ and producer consistently demonstrates a deeply anchored love for and close bond to house music, the art form he himself has tamed. As a DJ, he travels the globe, having played in Europe, Australia, Thailand, Brazil, the US and Mexico, and in his sets he creates a feeling of connectedness between himself and others, as well as within the crowd. On Stil vor Talent, Niko Schwind now presents the fruit of his labour in the from of his third album: ‘Grippin’ World’ captivates the listeners with its versatility and coherence, and kidnaps them to a world of sound, made up of elegantly reduced grooves, organic arrangements and accessible vocal-melodies. ‘Don’t Stop Your Love’ offers an inviting entrance with its full-bodied broken beats and dreamy chords, while the title’s lyric repeats itself to form a mantra. With ‘Perfect Fit’ we are handed an initial highlight, as Heartbeat’s warm voice and a simple guitar-loop form a flawless musical symbiosis, accentuated by a synthetically creaking bass-line. Niko thus proofs he’s more than capable of practicing restrained Minimalism with a pop-impact. Crystal clear claps and a stuttering rhythm then introduce ‘You Can’t Stop Me’, and provide the backbone for soulful r’n’b vocals, again sung by Heartbeat. Next, ‘Twenty-Four’ surprises as an old-school-leaning hip hop track – here, everything revolves around clever sampling, quirky instrumentation and a mildly paranoid lead melody; elements, which find meaning by the track title’s allusion. Niko then ups the tempo on ‘My Heart Is On Fire’, one of two collaborations with the Australian singer Lil’ Magdalene. We are treated to classical pumping piano house, which wouldn’t have been out of place in early 90s Manchester. Thanks to a healthy dose of the TB-303, ‘Saturday’ initially also nods towards the old school, yet evolves into a grooving deep house burner. Timeless chords and soulful hooks set the tone, much like on the following track, ‘Suffering feat. Sergi’. Things take a turn for the tougher on the title-track ‘Grippin’ World’, as a monstrous bass-line wraps itself around Lil’ Magdalene’s beguiling voice. Niko then presents another slice of hip hop, which delights with feel-good piano-rolls and a pinch of funk. Next up, ‘Beautiful Place’ is simply hypnotic due to the ominous spoken-word, which rides atop of dub chords and a pressing bass-line towards nirvana. Supported by Serge Erége’s wonderful voice, the relaxed groove and sunny synth-stabs of ‘Higher Love’ offer a contrast – light-footed tropical house crafted for the dance floor. Every journey must come to an end however, as taught by ‘The Little Prince’. Thus, ‘Fantasia’ bids us farewell with its nostalgic piano keys and sweet synths. “One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.” – on ‘Gripping World’, Niko Schwind clearly emphasises that music is the emotional extension of the heart. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Book now! |
Over the past couple of years, Kellerkind’s unique interpretation of house music has truly catapulted him out of the figurative basement and into the limelight. Whether it was the disco-infused cool of ‘Backflash’ or the tribal rhythms found on his debut-album ‘Basement Story’, through hard work, rather than by miracle, Marco Biagini matured into a producer who is at the top of his game. With ‘Music is a Miracle’ Kellerkind now delivers a sophomore album that offers itself as a diverse and surprising love letter to music, carrying his distinct handwriting. On ‘Your Love’, Kellerkind organically eases us into the album as deep bongos float over casual guitar licks and drawn-out synth melodies. Gentle murmurs slowly form into a distant soul vocal while sunny saxophones create a relaxed and beautifully fragile vibe. ‘Don’t You Know It’ then tightens the screws. Here, cowbells and laser-synths scream trademark Kellerkind: sugary without being cheesy, laidback yet never losing sight of the groove. It’s time to warm up the discotheque, don’t you know!? Kellerkind does, as he proves on ‘I Know’ and treats us to filtered disco breaks, colourful chords and a smooth vocal hook. Things get a little tougher on the next tracks. While ‘Give Me the Beat Back’ utilises a ghetto chant, dubbed out chords and hard-hitting snares to showcase a bouncy, UK-sounding bass-line, ‘Projection’ loops Jake The Rapper’s instantly recognisable voice and a classic disco riff to create seven minutes of moreish fun. ‘Music is a Miracle’, the album’s title-track, then reveals itself as a standout. Here, an extremely funky garage bass-line, Chicago strings and urgent trumpets surprise us as they drop after a Moodyman-esque monologue. Mantra-alert! Taking a dreamier turn, Kellerkind’s ‘Feel It’ is wonky and mechanical as it builds into a melodic climax that leaves you lost on the dance-floor, suspended in time. A beautiful moment and possible highlight in any DJ set. On ‘It’s Like That’ a dusty dub-house groove then flows through clonking percussion and a pitched down vocal until classicistic chords eventually wash over the arrangement. Drawing us in even deeper, ‘Take This Higher’ combines a bittersweet piano, romantic string melodies and an elegantly repeated vocal hook, toughened up by a low-slung house bass. Kellerkind reveals a completely new facet on the electronic ballad ‘Monologue’, which features Laura Wiesmann’s soulful vox. This is tasteful pop that bedazzles due to its reduced nature, honest vulnerability and musical softness. Lastly, the field recordings of an airplane security brief form the base for heavy piano notes, a distant beat and knackered strings on the nostalgic yet hopeful outro ‘Itchy Feet’. The title couldn’t be more fitting: Kellerkind doesn’t like to stand still, something he certainly proves with ‘Music is a Miracle’! |

Here, an extremely funky garage bass-line, Chicago strings and urgent trumpets surprise us as they drop after a Moodyman-esque monologue. Mantra-alert! The B-side is then dedicated to the remixes of ’I Know’. While the British heavyweights Leftwing & Kody bring the heat thanks to energetic dub chords and an urgent acid bass-line on their tasteful interpretation, Oliver Koletzki surprises with a rave-tastic old-school UK hardcore mix. Lastly, Murat Kilic focuses on jacking percussion and a rolling bass-line on his grooving version. |
